Why now?

This is just a first entry into the blogosphere to let you know that I consider myself to be a fiscally-conservative constitutionalist. And I think I am much more.

But, before I digress too far, I must let you all know that I have certain social and political opinions and positions that do not necessarily dove-tail into the American political parties as they currently exist.

Now, I am:
  • a hunter. I willingly kill animals to feed my family. I have NO regrets doing this and, in fact, enjoy the time I am outdoors.
  • not a fisherman. Although I enjoy fishing, I realize I am a rank amateur who struggles along.
  • a strong and vehement supporter of our Constitution's First Amendment.
  • a strong and vehement supporter of our Constitution's Second Amendment.
  • a strong and vehement supporter of .... OK. I hope you get it. I support our Bill of Rights completely and believe our Founding Fathers really had it right. Although there doesn't appear to be much of a problem with our Third Amendment, I really think all of these *Rights* are important to all of us.
  • not a lawyer.
  • a retired US Navy Master Chief Petty Officer.
  • not a politician.
  • a college graduate with degrees in Electronic Technology and in Management.
  • a Master Gardener.
  • not a believer in man-made Global Warming.
  • a Mason. My mother lodge is North Esk Marinus #1676 on the rolls of the Grand Lodge of Scotland which amalgamated after the US Navy base at Edzell Scotland was closed.
  • not a Republican. Nor a Democrat. Nor a Communist. Nor a Libertarian. Nor a Socialist. Nor any other current label I've seen.
  • a Concealed Handgun License holder. I carry a concealed handgun for my protection and the protection of my family and other innocent parties. I have never used or displayed my handgun except for training and familiarization.
So why have I decided to join the millions of other bloggers out in the virtual world? I guess it's mainly because I am fed up with the current political and economical situation in the US. Too many people seem to think they know what's best for me and I really believe I should have the opportunity to tell them what I think about them.

If I can, I will try to post something daily whether it's about a current event or something that has been bugging me for a long time.

If you read this, fine. Send me a comment. I promise I will either answer you or totally blow you off.

  1. My Mother Lodge is also North Esk Marinus #1676 on the rolls of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. My name is Roger Thorson and I think you sponsored me. Email me @ roger@thorsonfamily.info and we will talk about old times.
