David Nolan's test

I ran across a test at http://www.nolanchart.com/survey.php that infers it will help you determine if you are a liberal, conservative, etc. I decided, "Why not?" and plunged right in.

Yep, the results of the test showed that I "support the smallest possible government, support individual liberty in all ways, prefer to only defend our borders and not interfere in other countries' affairs." That is his definition of a libertarian.

OK. So, I've always known that I have those tendencies. I definitely support smaller government and with that smaller government, less taxes and much less spending by said government.

The government (state and federal) should stop trying to control my life. Banning salt in restaurants? Guys, I don't need no stinkin' nanny! And I truly believe that the Bill of Rights says exactly what it means and means exactly what it says. I'm not even sure that yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater should be regulated by the government.

As far as the military forces are concerned, they should be used for their Constitutional role and that is to defend our borders. I don't mind projecting that protection out a few thousand miles but I really don't care what happens in other countries. Why are we trying to export democracy to others anyway? It's not part of our Constitution to do so. Plus, if people in Somalia want to kill each other, why does that concern me?

So that is my position. What's yours?
