Off the Deep End - From the Right

Now I spent some time delving into the EVIL right-wing blog world. Again, I focused on just two subjects, the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor as Supreme Court Justice and the non-debatable issue of man-made Global Warming.

First point I'd like to make is that the tone of the blogs were quite different than those I visited earlier. Although some bloggers did have their rants, I didn't really run across much foul-mouthed, personal insults in these blogs except for the (more than) occasional troll. Most blogs were concerned about specific issues - but not all. Some of the 'conservative' blogs did start to get convoluted about the topic (sounds like my stuff) but all in all, the subject matter stayed on point.

As far as Sotomayor's nomination was concerned, I found several blogs that pointed to very specific comments she made during her career. Unfortunately, a small majority of them all covered the same comment. I would have preferred to find a blog that covered her court decisions exclusively but found most covered only the controversial fireman ruling.

With the Global Warming Detractors, I found the blog had a preponderance of hard-science, well-reasoned, well-explained, and lacking in personal attacks. I found no instance of anyone calling for a Global Warming missionary to be fired, attacked, or executed. Based on these findings, I MUST assume that emotional responses come almost exclusively from the liberal, left-wing blogs while the more reasoned responses come from the more conservative or scientific community.

Naturally, I didn't visit ever blog out there. I'm sure I could find some well-reasoned person logically explaining how Global Warming is man-made (without referring to scientifically discredited hockey sticks). Overall, I had a cool time doing this and may even do something like this in the future.
