Off the deep end

I've just spent the last few days surfing the liberal, leftist blog world and have come away with a few observations. Although I don't consider myself to be a political junkie, I do have a vested interest in the way people view the federal government.

Of course, I don't like the federal government exceeding the limits of the Constitution. And that seems to be something that is happening these days. But that's not what I'm writing about today!

I went to the Dark Side to see what was being said about issues with which I am concerned. The first issue I examined was the liberal take on the Supreme Court Justice nominee. Evidently, she is the embodiment of the perfect SCJ. She will make all wrongs right and all inequities equal. She is better than anyone else on the court (but the same as the other liberal justices) and should probably get 2 or 3 votes instead of just one for all the cases. The bloggers are solid in their support that her life experiences make her the candidate of choice without regards to any of her minor rulings. And anyone who opposes her - for any reason - should be silenced! Her opposers are only reactionary, hate-filled, right-wing warmongers whose racist beliefs will destroy the world order. True dialog about this nominee will never take place because anyone who questions anything about her background in law will be blasted with lies and innuendo.

The next issue I was interested in was the current Global Warming discussion. Well, there IS NO MORE discussion on the matter. It is closed. Period. Man-made global warming is a fact, scientific and irrefutable. And if you want to take an opposing view, you should be arrested, fired, or, in one blog, even executed! Anyone who does not believe the FACTS as presented by the left is a reactionary, hate-filled, right-wing warmonger whose racist beliefs will destroy the world order!

In general, the liberal or left-leaning blog world has some of the most foul-mouthed and hate-filled speech I've ever read. I'm not a saint by any means but the personal, insulting attacks on anyone who has a different opinion is shocking to me.

My next task is to spend a few days visiting the EVIL conservative blogs looking at the same two issues. I wonder how things will differ?
